Chris,
What type of climate do you have, that it survived in the garage?

I have a small bay laurel that started at about 8" this spring, but has now grown into a 2' shrub. I'd like to try overwintering it here in zone 5b, but I have no experience with them. From what I've read online they can be very tempermental, too.

Sent: Wednesday, September 28, 2016 10:34:02 AM Chris, I have always lost mine to white fly infestations over the winter. Whatever your chosen method to treat for these types of insects, be thorough before bringing it in, and vigilant throughout the winter.
Hi Debby, After reading your post I decided against bringing it indoors. Instead I overwintered the pot in the garage under a window. I never gave it any water (although I was prepared to if it looked too dry), and it did very well. I moved it out a couple of weeks ago and new growth is forming. It's about 2' tall right now, so it could reach 3' or more this season. I'll have to prune it to encourage bushiness (and more yummy leaves). Thanks!
