Greetings. I don't recall having posted to this list before, but
have been following the messages for about one year. I work on
diseases of trees and shrubs in North Dakota. I occasionally need
to propagate trees in various ways, but I do not have a lot of
experience in most propagation methods. I hope I can get some help
from some members of this list.
I need to obtain clonal material of ponderosa pine from 2 to 4 year
old seedlings. Does anyone have experience or know of published
descriptions of using succulent pine tissue (i.e., expanding candle)
as scion or rootstock? Will it work? Is there a better method? Any
suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
