Subject: Wanting winter interest plants

Daphne caucasica is still blooming and usually looks good u til the first of December.  Magnolia grandiflora "Victoria" is most attractive after cold weather sets in.  The foliage is much more attractive than in the summer.  The morning sun shimmering off of the glossy dark green contrasting with the hirsute russet undersides of the leaves is stunning most years, lastng until hard winter sets in.
Check out my plant of the month page for October "Gentiana scabra"   on the North American Rock Garden Society web page <www.nargs.org/index.html>  or <www.nargs.org/frames.html>---------------------------------------------------------------------
