Re: Rhus aromatica

Hello to all..
This subject caught my attention,as I have currently purchased'Allergy Free
Gardening'by Thomas Leo Ogren.
He writes thats so much of what the landscaping industry is utilizing is the
'low maintenance', 'seedless',all male trees, shrubs, ground covers which do
not produce seeds but do produce copious amounts of pollen...
One of the solutions as he sees it is to plant the female species of the plant
world...

He states that in general Rhus males produce heavy pollen to which many are
highly sensitive ..

I know this is somewhat off topic and hope not to offend..But hoping others
might have read this book and might share their take of it..(I have not
finished it as yet)

I am a small home nursery but do have allergenic asthma so wondering if
applying some of these principals would indeed help me(this year the asthma
was the worst yet, however my display gardens were the biggest, best yet!)
Hum,makes one wonder,if he is correct about approximation to the offending
plants.

I am following this thread closely as the 'Gro-Low'is in its second year for
me.Too bad flowers are long gone..
Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions on low,no pollen plants would be wonderful.
Thanks.
Connie
