Hi Cindy and Don,
I went to Tom Clothiers web site and what Don said is what Tom has listed:
"Abeliophyllum distichum , White forsythia ,zone= 5
sow seed outdoors at time of collection, do not put seed into storage"
So, sounds like just stick 'em in the ground and let Mother Nature do her thing.

Hi Don,Is it hard to start from seed? Do they need stratification or anything other treatment 1st?The seed needs to be planted when ripe (i.e. now) and not stored. I would imagine this will involve stratification over the winter. I have never started any from seed, so I can only relate what is in the literature.
