Glenn, the ISU university forestry dept is not suggesting to plant ash here
as they have many environmental problems, potential problem with the ash bore
and they have been over used much like the elms. A few yrs ago they were
discouraging the use of green ash but since have included the white ash also. In
our area, they were flooded with calls on ashes dropping foliage early in the
season. I have two mature Autumn Purple which is one of my favorites. They
are just obtaining their glorious fall color. The best one is magnificent &
becomes simply illuminated.
Donna is near enough to me I think this information would apply.
