Re: Buxux

Okay, what would I look for to see if it is a Buxus? I bought several but none had names on them just yellow digging tape. Do all boxwoods smell? I guess I will have to go play detective. My friend Betty Walker does not have this one in her collection. She has been a member of the Boxwood Society for a long time. I get care packages(cuttings) from her every time I go to see her nursery and 200 year boxwoods.

Nancy,

I ran this by some of my university hort friends and got this reply:

Ron I checked all my Boxwood varieties and none of them show an indented apex in the leaf! I would question that this plant is indeed a Boxwood. Although both are opposite the English, Asian, Japanese, Korean and Swedish Boxwoods all have a pointed apex.

Does anyone recognize this boxwood? It is a very pretty plant with rarely any problems with drought or heat but needs a name.
Thank you,
