Thanks Franklin. Will keep in touch. Sounds as if the cultivars are not as
good as the species. My wild seedlings all fruited second year, but growth
is erratic, some plants outstripping others.

| The 4 I know of are Red Cascade, Red Cap, Red Ace, and
| Aldenhamensis. I have tried all but Red Cascade but have little
| to relate at this time. Red Ace died the 1st winter. Aldenhamensis
| has not fruited for me even though it is now 6 years old and 6' tall.
| I panted Red Cap last fall and it is now covered with fruit but the
