Linda,
It's probably 50-50. Likely these are H. macrophylla (may be marginally
hardy for you anyway) and also likely, since they are blooming now, that
they have not been hardened off to outdoor life. If you have no cool but
not freezing, bright light place to keep them over winter, it's worth
trying planting them rather than just discarding them. You might try
erecting a burlap fence around them to further protect them from winter
winds - and mulch well after planting.
If you've got them inside now, you might also consider hardening them off
by putting them outside for longer periods every day for a couple of
weeks...sort of the reverse to hardening off seedlings for spring planting
- let them get a taste of cold weather and start preparing themselves for
dormancy.
