Julius, Sorry,
but I said no such thing! I said “Hi Marek, Bit stylized...my
guess would be Xanthosoma rather than Alocasia...”, it was Marek who
suggested Xanthosoma indica... There IS an Alocasia indica (= Alocasia
macrorrhiozos) but the stamp does NOT depict Alocasia macrorrhizos). My guess
is that it is one of the carbohydrate crop Xanthosoma spp. That are frequently
met with throughout the tropics, well away from their native Caribbean and South/Central
