The official news, as of March 8th:

"Growing another 15cm overnight, our Titan Arum now towers over the other tropical plants from a height of 2m 15cm!! Still not quite ready to flower just yet. It is fast catching up to a Titan called 'Phyllis' that flowered at Cairns Botanic Gardens in 2014 -measuring 2.3m this (as far as we know) is the tallest ever recorded in Australia....for now. The Tropical Glasshouse is open today and tomorrow 10am-4pm." The RBGM pic that went with it:

Titan Watch -- update, March 9th, 3pm: No fragrance; more visitors than previously (to be expected, Public Holiday here and all); no height measurement today, conservative guesstimate of 221cm; definite bulking up of the base; fringe of the spathe beginning to colour up nicely:

Couple of retrospective pics added to the album too, for posterity (and humour); My two bobs is on movement late Tuesday, full power fragrance and opening Wednesday; or maybe movement Wednesday, and nasal assault + visual feast on Thursday... well... we'll see!

Hi Aroidophiles,

I suspect the frequency of Titan's doing their thing has reduced the notification rate I've come across here of late, but nonetheless it's still pretty exciting to see another in the flesh!

I dropped past today and nabbed a pic (posted on G+) so opening can't be too far away now. The inside word is growth is averaging around 10cm per 24hrs and the sheaths have begun to part when I saw it today.

Always nice to have another one of these terrific plants show us just how happy it is!

Let me know if you'd like more updates as it progresses!
