If traveling to the Lake Arenal area, you might want to stay at the Villa
DeCary.  It is a wonderful bed and breakfast owned by two Americans who are
also plant people.  They live next door to the Arenal Botanical Garden (which
is rather small, but enjoyable).  The bed and breakfast faces Lake Arenal;
and the volcano, nearby rumbles often, reassuring you that it is constantly
letting off steam--and that's a good thing.
