Dormancy of Amorphophallus from Madagascar

I have been fortunate enough to purchase more tubers recently from a seller and grower of plants from south africa and Madagascar.

One of the recommendations of the seller of these tubers on eBay is to immediately pot it and water it.

I believe that this grower/seller is thinking of these tubers in terms of the other plants from that part of the world that generally emerge from dormancy at the beginning of the wet season, even if that wet season is artificially induced.

My experience with the Amorphophallus tubers from Madagascar is that they generally don't emerge from dormancy until our late Summer to late Fall here in the Northern hemisphere. I have a few that do grow during my springtime but this particular tuber is showing no signs of breaking dormancy now and my biggest concern is rotting. It is showing signs of mold and I have increased air flow around the tuber and have treated it with cinnamon, so all seems well for now.

Does anybody have any experiences to share?
