Title: Synandrospadyx My seed raised Synandrospadx vermitoxicus, has performed well and even bloomed for me. Last year it didn’t bloom, but looked otherwise healthy.
This year, however, there are 3 large and one small growing point, leading me to believe that the bulb has split. See attached picture. It will be going dormant for me in a few weeks, and I have just kept it potted, kept very dry and on the cool side (50-60F/10-16C).
Is this “normal” behavior as it is for some of the other tuberous species? Should the plant be divided and if so, is now or next spring the best time?
Thanks,
Don Martinson
