Re: Aphid contol question

Dear Jan,

It sounds like you may have released the "good guys" too soon. If there is no "food source", such as aphids, the lacewings and parasitic wasps will die. It is wise to release beneficials only when pest populations have reached intolerable levels.

Good luck,
Deborah Mills

Subject: [cg] Aphid contol question

A week ago I released hundreds of Lacewing eggs and a thousand parasitic wasp eggs. At the time I had no aphids. I am now experiencing the appearance of some on my roses.
I am hesitate to spray with anything due to the beneficial insect eggs I released. What should I do?
