rooftop gardens

Hello gardeners,

I'm interested in providing some information about green roofs to my local city alder in Madison, WI.  I've done a bit of web research on them and understand that several cities have laws requiring roofs of a certain size to be paritally green.  Since Madison is centered on a narrow isthmus between two lakes, green roofs could potentially help our runoff problem.  Does anyone know where I could find some information on legislating green roofs?  I would be extremely grateful for any help.  Please let me know if you can.
