POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - COMMUNITY HARVEST
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Community Harvest, a non-profit organization working to create a healthy,
local food system that works for small farmers and low-income communities in
the Washington, DC area, is seeking an Executive Director. Community
Harvest's projects include supporting the development of community-led
farmers markets and operation of a one-acre urban mini-farm where we grow
vegetables and herbs for farmers markets and provide hands-on educational
opportunities for Washington, DC students.
The most qualified applicants will have experience and skills in program
development, writing, public speaking, fundraising, staff and board
facilitation, administration, advocacy, media and coalition building. Strong
candidates will have an understanding and commitment to sustainable
agriculture and low-income community food access issues. At least two years
previous experience as non-profit Executive Director, Development Director
or Program Director preferred.
