You may be interested to know that ACGA, Garden
Resources of Washington (GROW), Lutheran Social Services
of the National Capital Area, Virginia Cooperative
Extension and others are hosting a 
1.5 day conference on community gardening in
Washington DC on February 18-19 called "Building
Community from the Ground Up".  More details to follow
in the next few days...

One of our keynote speakers is Marcy Mistrett,
Director of Training and Evaluation for the
National Funding Collaborative on Violence Prevention.

THe title of her talk over the lunch hour on Feb. 19 is
"Community Gardening as a Tool for Violence Prevention
in Your Neighborhood." Seems timely to mention this now.
