conference is due in by the 30th of June, despite what previous mailings may
have indicated.

Gardening with Children,etc.

 Food Security, Farmer's markets, Urban Agriculture, Community Shared

Community, Youth, Professional Development issues, Multiculturalism, etc.
-Conservation:
 Soil conservation, Composting & Soil building,  Erosion control, Water
Conservation, Sustainable systems, etc.

Who Should Submit Proposals
Any individual or organization involved with community gardens, open space,
landscape designers /architects, legal issues affiliated with community
development, urban planners, foresters, master gardeners, food policy
makers, and horticulturists, s well as programs aiding in conservation,
youth, development / leadership or municipal partnerships. Proposals from
any other affiliation with information beneficial to conference attendees
will also be considered.

Evaluation of proposals
The program committee evaluates proposals on four criteria: overall quality,
relevance to the theme, clarity of focus and practical applicability.
generally, the strongest sessions are those that draw on both personal
experience and understanding of the problems and experiences of other garden
programs. Hands-on, experiential presentations and panel discussions are
preferred.

Presentation Format
Suggested presentation length is between 1-2 hours with consideration for
content. Engaging, hands-on, experiential presentations and panel
discussions are preferred. Examples of this could be a role playing exercise
to better understand the complexities of community organizing around a
community garden. Therapeutic gardening may include a demonstration
utilizing garden tools for the physically challenged. Interaction between
the presenter and the audience instead of a talking head for 1 hour is what
we are striving for.

Presentation Description
Attach an outline or description of 200 or more words discussing your
proposed presentation, including main points and goals. In addition,
specifically explain what participants will learn from your presentation.
You may include documents to support your proposal. Interactive workshops
are encouraged. If your proposal is accepted your description/outline will
be included in an edited form in the Annual Conference Brochure. It is for
this reason that electronic (email) submissions are preferred. Include a bio
or resume for each presenter.
