Direct Mail, Public Relations, Community Outreach

I'm a direct mail/public relations/newsletter copywriter with a lot of community outreach, community garden and CSA experience. I've done a lot of fundraising and publicity materials for nonprofits. I'd like to use my skills to gain experience with the goal of landing a part time (paid) position as in outreach/development/communications in the field. Do you know if there is any real need for these types of skills in the community garden arena?
