RE: growing lawn type grass indoors

I've grown wheatgrass for the kitties (gosh, do they love it!). You can
buy all sorts of cute grass mixes at pet supply stores in the kitty toy
aisle -- the instructions are on the packages. "Cosmic Kitty Herbs" is my
favorite brand, but there are others. Actually, your friend wants her cats
(if she has them) to nibble on the "indoor lawm" once she has it going -- it
seems to keep it in better health.

(Adam, the font of all cg wisdom, doesn't know about this because he's a
"dog" person. Despite the fact that cats are "walking sculpture", dogs do
have their place, so we can't completely hold this against him! ;-D)

I wouldn't grow poppies inside -- they like to let their shallow roots roam.
Plus, they don't last all that long. Planting every week or so to extend
the season, plus allowing them to reseed seems to be the best way to enjoy
them for longer.
