New Funding Resource for Markets on pps.org

Project for Public Spaces (PPS) is proud to announce the latest resource
on our website for public markets and farmers markets: Funding Resources
for Public Markets
<http://www.pps.org/PublicMarkets/info/markets_funding/> . The page is
part of our revamped public markets website and builds on our
collaborative efforts with USDA and other funders to improve, expand,
and promote public and private funding opportunities for markets.

Funding Resources for Public Markets
<http://www.pps.org/PublicMarkets/info/markets_funding/> currently
lists up-to-date information on four RFPs that are out which are open to
farmers markets and public markets:

The Farmers Market Promotion Program (USDA, Agricultural
Marketing Service)

The Community Outreach & Assistance Project (USDA, Risk
Management Agency)

Food Stamp Outreach (USDA, Food & Nutrition Service)

Community Services Block Grant Program (HHS, Office of
Community Services)

The site also links to the brand new Farmers Market Resource Guide
<http://www.ams.usda.gov/farmersmarkets/Consortium/ResourceGuide.htm> ,
which is a list of grants, programs, and other financial and information
resources available for farmers markets. The guide is published by the
Farmers Market Consortium (FMC), a new collaborative effort between USDA
and other government agencies, Project for Public Spaces, and private
foundations. The Resource Guide is the first document of its kind to
promote a free flow of information about and between the programs and
agencies that support farmers markets.
