Job Description

R.I. Plant a Row for the Hungry Project Consultant



Duties:

Provide coordination between individual gardeners, gardener organizations
and food pantries during the growing season.

Assist food pantries with communications to and from gardeners.  Assist
pantries in gathering data on amount of fresh produce donated.

Assist food pantries with recipes and information regarding use and storage
of fresh produce.

Publicize Plant a Row for the Hungry through press releases, photo
opportunities and other mini-events.

Report bi-weekly to Food Security Coalition and monthly to funders the
project and the amount of food being donated.

Skills:

Excellent communication and organization skills.  Must be able to work
independently.

Excellent inter-personal skills - must be able to work with a variety of
people, in a variety of settings. Second language desirable.

Some knowledge of vegetable gardening desired.

Valid driver's license and vehicle necessary.

$15 per hour as a consultant

flexible hours, 10 - 15 hours per week.  May - October
