Spots on roses

Hi folks,
I have noticed a new type of spots on my roses. It
is not blackspot. At first I thought mud had splattered on them from recent
rains. On close examination I can see that it is not mud but some sort of brown
spots. I haven't sprayed any insecticides but the rose leaves look like they are
burned in small spots. Anyone have any ideas? If so, what can be done? Thanks so
much!
