Growing Gardens of Boulder County, a non-profit organization that cultivates community through gardening, is seeking a Site Manager for their Cultiva! youth project, Children’s Peace Garden and greenhouse programs. We are located in Boulder, Colorado with a growing season of approximately 9 months. This job would include a few weeks of planning and clean up on either end of the growing season. It is a full time seasonal position with salary commiserate with experience. Applications must be received by January 1, 2002. Job Duties

Site Manager

Cultiva!

Assist with supervision of youth staff

Teach basic planting and growing skills

Create garden plans, purchase seed and maintain records for Organic Certification

Till field and spread compost

Organize planting of field

Organize greenhouse propagation, planting, and maintenance

Maintenance of irrigation system and field equipment

Supervision of school groups in field, activity planning, and teaching basic skills

Increase production for sale at market and donation

Direct community service volunteers in work projects

Peace Garden

Planting and maintenance of garden site

Maintenance of irrigation system

Volunteer Coordination

Supervise volunteers in Cultiva field, Peace Garden, and USDA gardens

Organize volunteer projects and create volunteer opportunities

Record volunteer hours

Fundraising Events

Assist with compost sale

Plant Sale coordination, planning and implementation for Cultiva!

Greenhouse

Assist with maintenance of greenhouse and equipment

Design and implement landscaping around greenhouse

USDA Gardens

Assist Cultiva! with site development of new gardens

Assist Cultiva! with installation of gardens
