In case you didn't know, Project for Public spaces has recently reprinted
William Whytes classic book 'The Social life of Small Urban Spaces' and we
also sell the video.  You can find it on our website: www.pps.org.  You may
want to also put your question to the Urban Parks Online subscribers
www.urbanparks.pps.org - they're a like-minded bunch of people.

I am working on a research project on community gardens in New York. I will
be investigating the social implications of the gardens on community and
community relationships as well as taking a look at the movement in general.

I am investigating the work of Jane Jacobs and William Whyte. If any one has
any other suggestions about important research I should investigate, pls let
