Silver Saw Palmetto

Jim-maybe you can give me some info on this. I bought 2 Silver Saw Palmettos
this weekend after the nursery owner assured me that they would be hardy here.
Then I looked them up and found that they grow in the everglades and can take
cold down to 20 degrees. Occasionally, RARELY, it might get down to 19-17
degrees for brief periods of time. Do you think I can keep these guys outside
or suck it up and keep them in pots? I'm bummed because I really wanted them
outside. They are very cool and although small I know palms will grow at a
decent rate under irrigations.
