palms need manganese and magnesium, andrea. otherwise they yellow and don't grow very well. and florida soils are generally deficit in both elements. palm fertilizers are generally formulated with them. so this may be a time when what seems like a marketing ploy might be a good idea. of course, you aren't in florida and your soil may not be deficient in these micros. so i don't know, but i think i would use it, though, at least once in every three fertilizings.

I know they make all kinds of "specific blends" but I 've always felt that
was more gimmick than anything. but I've been wrong a couple of times in my
life too ;-)
