Re: blue jay bathing lesson NOW Cedar

One of ours lost its top when a tornado went through the neighborhood about
15 years ago...the bottom branches continued to grow, thank goodness as it
is an old cedar. We've lot a good sized oak when it was struck by
lightening...we used the bark as mulch and left the trunk on the ground to
provide a backdrop for a garden. It has since rotted, providing good soil
for a stand of small redbud. Do try to use the tree in your garden...it
won't be a total loss that way.
