Firm foundation.  :)

Actually, it's not that deep.  I have about 300 square feet to dig about
six inches down.  I'm putting in a 4" base of crushed limestone with regular
interlocking pavers.

The limestone works much better than gravel, costs less, and doesn't need
to be as deep.
