Re: storms
I used to have jalousie windows - the narrow glass louvers on my front storm
door.
On a CSI repeat this week they covered a Florida hurricane and discussed
some of the science of it. One thing they illustrated was that something
flat to the ground won't be picked up. Admittedly your potted plants aren't
flat, but I think you're right about the shrubbery breaking the wind
(farting?) around the pots. Unfortunately, in the CSI show, all the rose
bushes were ripped out of the ground or flattened and destroyed by the
storm - except for the one under the victim who was attacked before the
storm.
I know it is rare to find a house with a basement in Florida. I just
thought it was a possibility because of your elevation.
