Thanks Theresa. I don't think I'll chance it. It's funny: I have raised
tens of thousands of plants but I still can't intentionally sacrifice one if I
know it doesn't stand a chance. What a weenie!

I've had one in a pot very large for many years and has been fine- until

winter. Froze back severely and thought I was going to lose it
entirely. It
is gradually making a comeback- but will never be as
gorgeous as it once
was. And I had the pot up next to the house, so it
was fairly protected. I
think you are more temperate that we are, so
you might get away with it
there. Worth a try anyway.
