Re: Kentucky Fescue???

Good grief, is it this stuff?
http://www.fescue.com/info/k31.html
if so, not that nice IMO

I found this:
"The best time to aerate fescue grass is in fall or early spring, when the grass is growing rapidly. On very compacted soils, aerating twice a year would not be out of the question. Apply fertilizer and water after aerating so the turf recovers rapidly."

But I also found this:
"In heavy clay soil, aerate established tall fescue lawns every 2 to 3 years to improve drainage and rooting. The best time to aerate is early fall."

Subject: [CHAT] Kentucky Fescue???

Hi All you southern Gardeners!!!
I have a friend who is trying to help one of her customers with lawn
questions across country. Why he doesn't contact a garden center in
Nashville is beyond me, but that is the way it is.
This gent says he has been told that his lawn is Kentucky Fescue and need to be aerated two times a year. Is there a good publication that I can
direct my friend Regan to?

Thanks in advance
