I've got a Kodak DX4900, which fits in my pocket, that is fine for snapshots. But if I want to take a picture of a flower or a fruit, the details [and often the color] just aren't there. It's also a bit slow so rapid-fire sequences and stop-action shots are out of the question.

FWIW, years ago I bought a D100. Although I loved the way it took
pictures, it was just too much to carry around on vacations etc. I
downsized last year and bought a Canon G9. In many instances, the
pictures come out just as well and this one fits in my purse :)

hornet's nest as big as a basketball that is still attached to some  tree
branches and hangs in my classroom? I have a large Calder-esque mobile that 
I will have to dismantle and store. The list goes on!

What did I get myself into?
