Ditto! I still live in Quincy, IL. My gardens are a mess this year, as I managed to be out of town during much of "clean up season" (Spring) and have decided life is too short to toil when it is hot and humid. Have been trying to get the weeds whenever the temperature is 82 or below. The vegetable garden and two perennial beds are done, and am starting on the front yard beds, working around to the back.

Theresa, I have several varieties of Anemone but the pink blooming
Anemone Robustissima is invasive in my garden. I like it so I
aggressively reduce it about every two years by digging up the roots
however I too experience regrowth form tiny bits of roots remaining in
the soil. I do not like to use chemicals so I diligently try to shift
thru the soil. If you do research vinegar even as it is used as a food
can be harmful.

I just returned this evening from a 3 day trip to Chicago with a bus
load of MGs. We visited Chicago Botanical, Morton's Arboretum, Ball Seed Gardens, Lincoln Conservatory, Cantigny and downtown gardens including
Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (The Bean) however Laurie Garden was
closed and Grant Park was avoided due to a hugh concert. The street
gardens were wonderful. Crowds of people everywhere! We also did some
shopping at a couple of nurseries.

Hope you are all having a great summer. We need rains here.

Happy Bday and thanks for posting! I have been meaning to for a while. I am looking for any ideas of how to get rid of anemone that is taking over my garden. I have dug, pulled, round-up (carefully with a paint brush bc other things are nearby), and I cannot kill it. In fact it seems to regrow from any tiny root that is left behind. Any suggestions? If I don't get
it out, it will I'm afraid take over my entire front garden...
