Theresa,
Do peonies grow well for your neighbors? I checked to see if B&B were
offering any unique species, but appears they are garden cultivars. I see
they say good for Zones 3-9, but I had always heard that peonies languish and
just don't do that well in warmer zones - that they don't get a long enough
cold period. I checked them on MOBOT, and there it says only to Zone 8, not
9. Still, you show yourself as 8/9, so sounds like you're on the edge there.
If it were me, I would be growing some of the wonderful species peonies that
can't survive here in Z5, but do well in warmer climates. There are some I've
seen that I would kill to be able to grow.
