Kitty, when I started wearing contacts only hard lens were available.  After 
switching to GP I did ask about going to SL because of extended wear & easier 
to care for but my dr/surgeon advised me I would not be happy because the 
vision is not as sharp with SL.  He always tells me long time contact wearers 
are tough people and he would never want to bother with them.  I would truly 
like to have the laser treatment but my correction is not treatable with 
such.  Of course, that is big $$ not covered by insurance, too.  I now have 3 
eye diseases, none of which I can tell yet, so it is a wait to see what 
developes.
