Developers here are always building in filled in wetlands (money can buy lots of favors here), and the idiots who buy the houses are always so shocked when their homes flood. DUH.

That's the way I feel about folks who build next to any large river, or for that matter, the seashore (name your ocean). Can understand the lure, but why do we keep bailing them out, then subsidize rebuilding?
