This year I have a couple of ceder waxwings that have stuck around. I always get a flock flying through, but never had any stay. They've been here a couple weeks now, so that is very cool : )

We have lots of woodpeckers - a whole flock of downies, a pair or more of hairies, and several red-bellies. The downies are the most active -they really fuss at us when we go out to change the suet feeder, or if it is empty they cling to the kitchen window screen and tell us we need to do something. I really enjoy the woodpeckers more than most birds - they have more individual personalities. Snow is deeper, but (s)he will be back if nothing else is available. I see 2 or 3 every winter. Sometimes when the snow is deep, they dive in & fan their wings like they're taking a dust bath & uncover the nuts so they can break them open. The little chickadees wait until they're done, then pick up any crumbs.**************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail. Try it now.
