Daryl, I had to laugh when I read your comment on how far the airport is from Lake Lanier. It does take about 2 hours without traffic to get to the airport! We decided on this because we could rent a completely furnished place. We gave away all of our furniture before leaving Houston, trying to stay mobile until we decide where we want to end up. With our daughter in Alpharetta we love getting to watch horse riding events, volleyball and choir. Don wanted to move to Colorado Springs but I chickened out and so far I'm glad, they have had lots of snow. He is still trying to talk me into trying it in June. How do I find your radio program? This is fun to catch up! Tricia

Nothing much new in my bit of the world, except record warmth and

years ago because of my arthritis, but I’m back on the radio – a gardening show,
of course. It’s an interview format rather than the call-in show I did for
@10 years in the 90s. It’s been fun and I’ve had some great
guests.
For the most part I record from home rather than in-studio
and while it presents challenges, it allows me to skip the driving (difficult
because of a couple of shoulder surgeries) and I can talk to gardeners/authors
in different time zones without them having to get up at the crack of dawn or
late in the day when my pain meds have worn off. it’s funny. I was
interviewed on one of the very first internet radio shows and now, about 20
years later, I have a show that’s podcast as well as
broadcast.
Patricia,
I’m a little surprised that you’re up in Gainesville. That’s about as far away
from the Atlanta airport as you can be. It’s on the far NE side of the
metro area and the airport is on the SW side. Most of my pilot friends
live either SE or SW, with more moving to the SW side. How long is it
taking Don to get to the airport?
Best
wishes to all for a healthy and happy new year.

I have been thinking about Pam…. I hope you are ok after all the storms.
Garland got hit so hard!
I thought it would be good on this last day of the year if
everyone could check in and let us all know how you are doing.
I am in Gainesville, Ga. We moved here to be closer to
our daughter and 2 of our granddaughters. We are renting a VRBO on Lake
Lanier, beautiful place to live but we can’t stay after June. It gets to
expensive! Any advice on where we should go next? My husband just
has to live near an airport so he can fly out every week. Atlanta has been
great but traffic to the airport is more than he wants again. We have been
thinking around Bastrop, Texas and he could fly out of Austin. Any advice
on that one? We have lived in Houston and was great being near my sister
and brother but the traffic to the airports was hard on Don. I would love
your advice, there are so many great places to live!
Happy New Year!!!
