Love the Salvia madrensis. I tried to root some to bring with me here but it died. I've given most of my plants to my BIL so I'll be glad to take what you guys are willing to send and I thank you most heartily for it! Hopefully I'll be able to repay in plants some day!

That reminds me- I've got that tall yellow Salvia madrensis if you'd like some. It's only marginally hardy here, but I've kept a bunch going along the brick wall in front.

I most definitely recommend Abide-A-While, if you're willing to drive 2
hours a couple of times a year to get there.

I've noticed that at deer infested properties, a lot of plants will get
chomped if they're in the regular path of the deer, but the same plants will
often go un-touched if they're off the beaten path. At least until the food
resources dwindle. Then, they've even taken the plastic ear of corn from a
fall door wreath.

I'm trying to think of other stuff Daryl. I never had a deer problem as I
had a 6 foot fence. My friend Liz does though, and if I recall, they even
ate loquats and Leyland cypress that she planted.

She does have Bridal Wreath Spirea, Sweet Autumn Clematis, Wisteria
'Amethyst Falls' and a couple of other things out on the border that
they haven't bothered. I'll email her and ask her. Do have your friend go
to Abide-A-While though. It's a great nursery. I always try to make a trip
over there at least a couple times a year. Mt Pleasant is about 2 hours
from where I'm from.

Salvia salvia salvia. They might nibble at it, but don't like the
fragrance at all. There are literally hundreds of varieties that will
grow in Mt. Pleasant (community outside of Charleston, SC) and a really
good nursery there called Abide-A-While that can help her even more.
