I'm sure your son is familiar with my town, LaGrange, TN. General Grant stayed here with his wife during the "wawa." He wrote very favorably about us in his diary. My church, Immanuel Episcopal, was used as a federal hospital during that time, and one of the homes here, which was also a hospital, still has blood stains on the dining room floor.

Cathy,
My son the Civil War historian know the linage of every one involved
in the war, I do believe. He has a mind for detail and can tell you the
caliber of bullet that killed whoever, who was there at the time and why
they were there. Also what happened later to the ones remaining. (He did not
get that from me)
He sure does love his reenacting, all the others involved in the
battles and history. My son is on a cannon crew.

Of Enjoyed his site. One of my staff when I was on active duty was a
civil war reenacter. His unit was the "26th North Carolina" and I
gained a real appreciation for the passion those folks have for
history and authenticity from him, and from viewing reenacted battles.
