I think the medical people are serious. One of my nieces oversees cancer trials, attends seminars all over the country, Canada and Europe, and she says with my type of cancer that I could get by with fresh fruit if someone peels it. She is very serious about the garden work. She's a gardener like me and knows how difficult this will be for me. But it will be over by May. I'm not a painter. I like quilting and do some landscape appliques. Maybe, I'll work on my Baltimore as it has lots of flowers. You're right. It's not the same. I'm in heaven working in the gardens while listening to a good book on CD. But I like the notion of your head painted with flowers. Have you thought about painting (on canvas) flowers, landscapes, etc.? Can keep you connected to the earth...and you don't get dirt under your nails! But that's what's wrong with it, come to think of it. Kathy In a message dated 2/5/2010 10:22:28 A.M. When your white count is down, they don't want you in the soil or fooling with plants, such as roses, because of the fungi, etc. AND, I am restricted from fresh fruits and veggies for the same reasons. I will STARVE. So, I am planning to get my head painted with flowers. There are lots of us, survivors that is, out there. Remember Darwin's words: "It's not the strongest or the most intelligent who survive. It's the most adaptable." That's certainly not a verbatim quote, but that's the jist of it. My theory of survival has always been that I drive on the highway. zem ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pam Evans" <gardenqueen@gmail.com> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Monday, February 01, 2010 5:49 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] Way OT /Cancer > Amen to that.
