Mine is growing in a bed with a weed barrier cloth & mulched with bark
chips. The decomposing bark & roots of seedlings lift away in a clump. If I
get them moved the first year or two, they seem to tolerate it well. The
original plant hasn't spread much, maybe because of the weed barrier.
