Yeah, I think you're righ about that, Chris. I'm finding that the clumping
bamboos that will definitely survive in our zone, only have a diameter of .5".
Oh well. I may have to settle for a smaller bamboo then. I think planting a
runner will be too much work for me since I will be putting it in an area
that I won't be able to mow around.

much hope for growing anything of a reasonable size without serious
