Just did the same calculation with the Euphorbia pseudocactus picture I posted recently on Yahoo. The original was 2000 by 4123 pixels; the Yahoo image is 264 by 545 pixels. That's an 87-percent reduction.

For what it's worth, my picture of the Hong Kong orchid tree bloom was reduced by Dave's Garden from 2000 pixels wide to 800 pixels wide when I posted it. That's 40 percent of size. Don't know if 60 percent reduction is the standard or 800 pixel width is, or if it operates on byte/bit size.On Jan 8, 2007, at 6:26 PM, Kitty wrote:I don't know what formula yahoo uses, but it seems you may have shrunk themm too much. He can easily reach the door knobs, though he hasn't figuredout how to turn them, thank goodness!Does anyone know how Yahoo resizes photos? I shrunk them all, since they were huge, but Yahoo seems to have shrunk them even more.d ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kitty" <kmrsy@comcast.net> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Sunday, January 07, 2007 11:02 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] Pictures of DieselOh my, he HAS grown!
