That is too much! It was finally 38 here today. We might get some rain or sleet Saturday night, but it's scheduled to be back to normal temps by Monday. Thank goodness!

I just watched the weather for us and they are predicting 6-12 inches of snow by Saturday night. Amarillo TX is expecting 17.5 so I can't gripe.I hope it is just snow this time. A week fron Sat shows ahigh in the 50's but not good until then. We are all SO sick of this trash,I kid you not.On 1/18/07, Johnson Cyndi D Civ 95 CG/SCSRT <cyndi.johnson@edwards.af.mil>wrote:Ah, it's warming up a bit here. A big 59 degrees which, considering the last week, is not so bad. I'm feeling a bit miffed though that they got snow in Malibu plus a snowstorm closed I-5, and all we saw were a couple clouds. I mean, really, if it's going to be this cold we oughta at least get some snow out of it. I was checking out the palm trees out in front of my workplace here and it could look better. They are fan palms, usually do just fine, but there is no green showing on the fronds at all, they are completely brown now. Time will tell if they've been killed but I hope not, they're huge and there's almost 30 of them. I was here in the last really cold snap though (mumble) years ago and most of the palms not protected by a building or windbreak died. If I'm ever home during daylight again I have got to get out there and see what's going on in my garden. Theresa and Cyndi, how about you and the rest of the state? Definately a weird season everywhere- although I didn't mind the warm weather in the beginning of this season for me. It is now back to normal winter here....burr....cold and flurries expected. Yes - we have power. Matter of fact, Sugar just got behind me and nudged me out of my recliner as it's the warmest spot in the house. It hasn't gotten above freezing since Sunday. Unheard of here. Even when we get the occasional freeze overnight, it normally starts to thaw out by noon. This is crazy. How do people stand this? My poor rosemary shrubs are covered in ice. I hope that insulates them until it thaws. It needs to be Spring tomorrow. I had some daffodils blooming already, they look like Popsicles now. Revolting weather.
