There is nobody out here who works with me, unfortunately. I wish I had standard shift, but mine is automatic. It is, however, front wheel drive. I'm sure you have a lot more hills than I do, but they make me very nervous...

Do you have a front wheel drive and standard shift? With my little
Toyota, I was able to get to work for a week when everyone else was iced
in. Good luck with it. If you can get out before others make the roads
slick and get home before they freeze up again, you might not have much
trouble. Is there anyone to share the drive? Someone who works in the
same area?

The freezing rain and sleet are supposed to stop here soon to be replaced
with snow -- maybe. Nobody seems to be sure about what is going to happen.
I noticed several pine limbs already down. As long as the 170+ year old
pecan tree in the back yard doesn't fall on my house I should be all right. 
<LOL> Guess I'll try to get to work in the morning, and I hope the
state/county has been diligent about salting the roads -- or whatever they
do to them. I chipped the car out of its ice block earlier today. I like
adventures as much as the next person as long as they are within reason...

I just heard on the news that they are doing good at getting people's power 
back on... they are down to 164,000 without power now. Whew... that still
sounds like a lot to me.
I hope you don't have power outages or broken trees. I have a few broken
branches but not bad considering what kind of weight they have had on
them.
It has quit snowing.... so it can't thaw fast enough for me. I think it
will be Monday before it is over freezing.

I totally agree. We are now experiencing freezing rain, which you know is
the absolute worst! I'm just hoping it all turns back to sleet and/or
snow before the build-up gets too thick. Right now it's just noticeable
on the shrubbery. This is just not fun. Sorry you are getting such awful
weather. I've been watching The Weather Channel, and OK looks horrible.
Spring really cannot get here fast enough!

Get ready if it is as bad as we have had it is bad.
We had a brown out a while ago but still have power... thank goodness.
It is still snowing and I can handle snow but we have a base of several
inches of ice. Everything that fell for the first day has frozen solid.
our trees and electric lines are covered with ice but not as much as
some people.
I would vote for you staying in... it will be over in a day or so... and 
it is not worth a broken bone or worse.

The weather forecasters here scared me to death with talk of an ice
storm. They have been just about nonstop since 4:00 this morning. I
called in at work because I live over 40 miles away with 2 lane country 
roads for the most part. We had freezing rain for a while, then
snow/sleet mix, then sleet. Right now I'm not sure it's doing
anything, but more snow is predicted for later. I can tolerate anything 
as long as we don't have an ice storm! Right now I'm planning on going
to work tomorrow.

So far, no storm but we have one predicted. TN narrow and is on the
