Theresa you will have plenty of seeds... especially if your neighbor is
also growing this. Mine flew a good 50 ft from the orginial plant- over
the pond and down the valley....
I usually find a few plants hiding somewhere even after I do my spring
pull outs. (which are very easy to eridicate) If Theresa doesn't send
you some seeds, I will try too.

Sure looks like what Theresa described. Maybe I'll try growing it next year,
looks interesting. I also found a page that says the leaves and seeds can be
used as a red dye. They say throw a couple of chopped leaves in with your
rice and you get pink rice.
The high was 106 here today.

That would be my guess, too. Shiso is Perilla frutescens, a member of the
mint family used in Japanese cooking. The cultivar 'Atropurpurea' is called
"beefsteak plant".
