I've tried Gentiana septemfida lagodechiana and G. cruciata. One, I think the cruciata is still hanging in out there but no flowers.

Couple of things I pointed out in the article I wrote on Gentiana... one it is a very large family... not all can be treated the same when transplanting. Won't work. Also in many cases you need to know the pH of your garden soil and what the species gentian you are purchasing needs. Not many garden centers or articles touch on pH even when it is important.
Try some summer blooming Chinese species of Gentiana.. easy and reliable, adaptable.
